Do I need CAD or drafting experience?
No. Build the space visually, then drag loads into place or use Auto Pack.
What can I map?
Anything! You can create items and containers with the dimensions and weights you want. Create loading spaces for the trucks, trailers, or containers you use, then place packed containers and loose loads on the canvas.
Which devices does PackMap Studio support?
PackMap Studio supports iPhone with iOS 18 or later, iPad with iPadOS 18 or later, and Mac with macOS 15 or later.
Workflow
Which inventory files can I import?
CSV, XLSX, and ODS file formats are supported. There is an import wizard to help map your columns to PackMap Studio fields, and you can save that configuration for faster future imports.
Can I reuse items or containers?
Yes. Save reusable containers and parts in the Library, bring them into a new project, and adjust the contents for the job.
Can I change the labels on the containers being packed?
Yes. Change the Default Container ID Prefix in Settings for newly created containers. You can also customize the Container ID and Display Name for any individual packed container when you pack or edit it.
How do I get my inventory file onto my iPhone or iPad?
Save the file in any storage location you can access through the Files app, such as iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or another enabled provider. In PackMap Studio, choose Import Items and select the file.
Can I print directly or save a PDF?
Yes. After the final checks, print the finished paperwork or save it as a PDF.
Mapping
Can I pack manually or automatically?
Yes. Drag, move, rotate, and stack loads manually for complete control, or use Auto Pack to create a starting arrangement. You can adjust the Auto Pack result or combine both methods in the same plan.
What does Auto Pack do?
Auto Pack makes a starting arrangement for currently unplaced loads. Review the result and adjust it to match the way the real load needs to work.
Can I change the plan after Auto Pack?
Yes. Keep dragging, rotating, stacking, or removing loads until the mapped plan matches the job.
Can I pack multiple trucks in the same project?
Yes. Add a separate packing space for each truck, trailer, or container, then switch between the spaces and map each one independently in the same project.
Can I use metric units?
Yes. Choose centimeters or meters for length and kilograms for weight in Settings. Imports can also read units from the file, and the selected units carry through to the plan and PDF.
Files and privacy
What is included in the PDF?
The finished PDF can carry the project summary, scaled space layouts, and load details. Your company name, address, contact details, and JPG logo can appear in the title block.
Can I remove the PackMap Studio logo from the PDF?
You can replace the large PackMap Studio logo in the PDF title block with your own JPG logo. PDFs still include a small PackMap Studio label in the footer.
Can I sync between my devices?
Yes. Choose iCloud Drive as the File Storage Location in Settings and use the same Apple Account on each device. Your projects and Library can then sync across supported iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. Selected app defaults and saved import configurations also sync through your personal iCloud account.
Where are my project files stored?
Project files stay on your device or in storage you choose. PackMap Studio does not require a PackMap account or upload your projects to PackMap-owned servers.
Does the website track me?
The site adds no advertising, tracking, third-party analytics, or nonessential cookies. A privacy-enhanced YouTube player loads only after you choose to play a video.
